What We Believe

The Scriptures

We believe the Old and New Testaments to be verbally inspired by God, inerrant in the original writings, of supreme and final authority in faith and life. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12-13

The Godhead

We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections. Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 28:19

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in: (1) His eternal existence as God. (2) His incarnation by means of the virgin birth. John 1:1-2,14; Luke 1:35 (3) His death on the cross as the substitutionary atonement for sin. (4) His literal, bodily resurrection from the dead. (5) His present ministry of intercession in heaven. Romans 3:24-25; 1 Peter 2:24; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5 (6) His personal return to earth.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, convicts men of sin, regenerates, baptizes, indwells, seals and sets believers apart unto a holy life; that He keeps and empowers believers day-by-day; that He is the Teacher of the Word of God and Guide for our daily life. John 16:8-11, 13; Romans 8:1; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13-14, 5:18; 1 John 2:20-27

Man

We believe that man, because of sin, is corrupt and therefore in need of redemption. Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23, 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3, 12

Salvation

We believe: (1) Salvation is by grace, a free gift of God apart from works. (2) It is through personal faith in Christ as Savior and Lord. (3) All who receive Him are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and become children of God. Ephesians 1:7, 2:1-10; 1 Peter 1:18-19; John 1:12; (4) All who are truly saved will be kept forever. John 6:37-40, 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38-39; 1 Corinthians 1:4-8; 1 Peter 1:5 (5) However, God cannot overlook sin in His children and will therefore chasten and correct them in love. (6) We believe that as Christians we should maintain good works, not to be saved, but because we are saved. Therefore, we expect to walk separate from the world, avoiding even the appearance of evil. Romans 13:13-14; Galatians 5:13; Titus 2:11-15

The Church

We believe concerning the church: (1) Its invisible form is the true body of Christ and that all who are born again are members regardless of organizational affiliation. 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 13:3-11; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:25-27 (2) Its visible form is composed of those who assemble themselves together according to God’s Word for the purpose of worship, edification, spiritual growth and service. Acts 14:27, 20:17, 28-32; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11

The Ordinances

We believe that Christ instituted the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper to be observed “till He comes”. Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:41, 8:36-39, 10:47-79;1 Corinthians 11:17-34;

Angels

We believe God created a great company of holy angelic beings Matthew 18:10, 26:53; Psalm 8:5; Hebrews 2:7-9; Revelation 5:11; 7; a host of these angels, led by Satan, fell into sin; Satan is a personal being, called the “prince of this world” and the “god of this age” Ezekiel 28:12-15; Matthew 13:39; Luke 10:18; John 8:44.

The Future

We believe in the personal, imminent pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ to judge and rule all mankind. 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 4:13-18, 5:9; Titus 2:13; Revelation 3:10, 19:11-16, 20:1-6
